I made a bunch of different delicious appetizers for dinner last night & these disappeared the fastest! They were so good!
I used Fit & Active Mozzarella String Cheese from Aldi for these, but if you don’t have an Aldi near you then they may be higher in calorie & points.
Recipe makes 12 cheese sticks
1 cheese stick = 1 weight watchers points+
= 1 weight watchers smart points
6 mozzarella string cheese sticks (I used Fit & active )
1/4 cup egg beaters or better’n eggs
1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp italian seasoning
Slice your string cheese sticks in half & put them in the freezer for 30 minutes. This makes it so the cheese doesn’t melt as fast in the oven so the breading can get nice & crispy.
Put your egg beaters in a shallow dish. In another shallow dish stir together the panko & seasoning.
After your cheese sticks have been in the freezer for 30 minutes dip them 1 at a time in the egg substitute & then the bread crumb mixture.
Place them on a baking pan that has been sprayed with non stick cooking spray.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 5-10 minutes. Try to get them out as soon as you see any sign of the cheese starting to melt.
Enjoy! Serve them on their own or with marinara sauce for dipping them in!
